My husband had a severe stroke about 7 months ago. A month ago our insurance company stopped covering therapy due to a slow recovery. I am able to stay at home with him but I have to work (we were not retired when he had his stroke) so I am not able to be a full-time therapist for him. He is able to do a lot of the physical exercises on his own now, but I needed something to help with speech. We started trying software, and React2 was the most intuitive to operate. I still have help him to the next level or to do the same level over again (a voice that reads the buttons would be nice - maybe on mouse-over) - since he recognizes a lot of words in a general way but he can't REALLY read.
Before his stroke my husband spent a fair amount of time on the computer for his work, and even though he lost his ability to use a computer with his stroke, it seemed natural to turn to software for help.
I would like to add that I appreciate the aesthetic effort that went into creating React2 - having an inviting visual environment can be a motivating factor. The differences between UK English and American English do not outweigh the advantage of React2 for my husband
